Raven on a Gold Box This raven is painted on top of a gold foil box. It once contained chalk pastels which my husband purchased at a yard sale. I always love taking something that is old, worn and worthless and transforming it into art.
Raven Trio (Part 1) I love using multiple canvases for works that can be displayed as a group individually. This particular trio can be displayed with this raven on the right or the left. All three of the birds were photos that I took and transformed into paintings.

Raven chalk sketch
This sketch was drawn from a photo of a crow on my lawn. Generally I find that crows and ravens don't like having their pictures taken. They usually fly away as soon as break out the camera. This fellow wasn't camera shy. He allowed me to take a beautiful photo which I later sketched. Original sketch SOLD
Crow Block Print I love the cocky attitude of this crow and his upright stance. The more I watch crows and ravens, the more I admire them.
Raven Turning This oil painting on canvas is 36" x 36". I tried two new techniques on this canvas. I used blue in the highlight areas and I also varnished the raven when he was dry so that his body contrasts with the background.
Raven Block Print
Ravens are generally larger than crows and have a distinctive ruff of feathers on their necks. Ravens tend to be loners or to hang around with one other ravens. Crows tend to live in community. Something about this raven suggests his solitude.
